lol I would definitely do that Columbus though. Not likely to want to do it. Who knows? I think Columbus is getting tired of the rebuilding phase and are starting to get antsy to make a push for the playoffs. A top pairing puck moving defenceman and a first line center are what they need the most. Kaberle definately has the first one covered, and Antropov is a borderline solid first line center. I think a first line of Huselius-Antropov-Nash could cause some damage. Don't forget right now they're trying to make a pitch to Nash to show they're serious about trying to contend since he's a UFA soon. Whether they'd be willing to pay that price is debatable, but what isn't debatable is that they could definately use Kaberle and Antro.

lol I would definitely do that I would require more in return from Columbus in that deal. I agree. If we were going to get Carter and a 1st from Philly for Kaberle, then we can get at least Voracek and a 1st for Kaberle alone. I think that Carter is/will be a better all around player than Voracek. Then you add in Antropov and I think that we could get a whole lot more for those two then Voracek and a 1st!!

NOW THAT WILLIAMS IS DOWN AND OUT IN CAROLINA FOR 4-6 MONTHS.
How about Poni to the Canes for a prospect or a draft pick?

How about any of Poni, Antropov, Van Ryn or white to Columbus for the Stefan Legein? Honestly I'd take the gamble for sure.

With Selanne now in the fold, the Ducks are $1.485M over the cap right now.
The most obvious avenue to explore would be to dump Marchant and his $2.5M salary.
The Leafs seem to like strong forechecking, two-way players. Marchant would also add a nice veteran leadership presence for the kids.
To Toronto:
C Todd Marchant ($2.5M) ANA '09 4th round pick
To Anaheim:
C Boyd Devereaux ($0.6M)
This move allows Anaheim to shed almost $2M in cap, and get back comfortably under the ceiling, while also acquiring a solid bottom six forward.
Toronto acquires a player that would fit well in Wilson's system, jettisons a spare part, and turns its extra cap space into a pick.
Then at the trade deadline, when Marchant's cap hit would be down to about $0.8M, Toronto can move him to a contender for another mid round pick.

lol I would definitely do that I would require more in return from Columbus in that deal. I wouldn't. Voracek is so highly touted, HF has him as a top ten prospect league wide. We would be acquiring a piece for our 1st line, and we're sorely lacking 1st line players. Also that 1st is likely gonna be in the 10th-20th overall range, so it would be a good draft pick too. As a Leafs fan thats a sick deal.

How about Kaberle for Claude Giroux or JVR and a 1st round draft pick. Both considered 1st line prospects, James is a LW, and Claude is a RW. Or, how about Ryan Suter and a 2nd round pick for Kaberle. I don't know how much sense it would make for the Preds, but as a Leafs fan I see them getting a solid 55ish point D-man for an up and coming young player, that IMO is stuck under the shadow of Shea Weber. Leafs get a top two defender, perfect to play with Schenn, and a 2nd.
