At the Deadline To Washington: Vesa Toskala To Toronto: Eric Fehr Kieth Seabrook Leafs lose arguably their best asset, and get 2 good prospects. Washington is looking to win now, since they had a little taste last year. If we were to trade with Washington, I would hope for something along the lines of Bourque, Varlamov, and their 1st. I believe Fehr and Seabrook are the best in the system, and asking for a first i belive would be too much. But the again, I would probably start the phone call saying Fehr, Seabrook and a 1st.

Fehr is definitely one of the best in the system (Seabrook is arguable), which is why I lowered the quality of the prospects slightly and then tossed in the 1st. We also need another legitimate goaltending prospect badly.

Not a big fan of Seabrook or Fehr.
I'd try to get a conversation started involving WSH's 1st round pick and a prospect like Anton Gustafsson or Josh Godfrey.

I have to strongly disagree. If were talking strictly who is worth the most in their system, and not players we could look at acquiring for Vesa, I think the list would have to start with Alzner.

I still think the Avs could come calling about Toskala. They'll give Budaj a shot for the first while. But they want another shot at the Cup too before Joe retires. Sakic and Foote aren't getting any younger. I don't think Budaj is ready to go all the way for them. Don't even suggest Raycroft. LOL!! The Caps just gave Theodore 2 years and $9mil I think it was. I don't see them adding another $4mil goalie. What about the Oilers if Garon can't perform the way he did last year?

Alzner in my opinion isn't a prospect anymore. And we dont need anymore d-men

Here's a longshot...
Kaberle to NSH for Colin Wilson.
With Nashville looking to be on the wrong side of the playoff bubble and Kaberle's NTC this trade may never have the chance to develop, but IF the preds do look to be in the top 8 out west they pick up a Solid Offensive D-Man with a cheap price tag who can replaces the losses of Zidlicky and Timmonen and the leafs finally get a forward in their system.

Tradeline 2007 Ryan Smyth was trade for the Islander's first round pick, Robert Nilsson (First round pick 2003) and Ryan O'Marra (First round pick 2005).
With that in mind and knowing that trade's like that and men with logic like Garth Snow aren't always plentiful what is realistic in your eyes of package for Kaberle.
Really in my eyes seeing Kaberle's contract and skill I'd say he's worth more than a trade for Ryan Smyth if you're looking to be a playoff contender. Thoughts? Predictions?

Very similar but how about Kaberle to Vancouver for Cody Hodgson (and maybe their first as well if they wouldn't mind...)?

Kaberle to New Jersey for Travis Zajac + 1st round pick + 3rd round pick? Kaberle to Phoenix for Martin Hanzal + 1st round pick? Kaberle to Columbus for Derrick Brassard + 1st round pick? Kaberle to Colorado for Wojtek Wolski + 1st round pick?
