As the Blue Jackets continue their search for a top-line center, two players they appear to have growing interest in are Tampa Bay's Vaclav Prospal and Toronto's Nik Antropov.
The Lightning has had scouts at Columbus' last few games, while the Blue Jackets are scouting the Bolts in Tampa tonight.
Prospal, who turns 34 on Feb. 17, was dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers the day before last year's trade deadline and then signed a multi-year deal with the Lightning in the summer.
Traded six times in his career, Prospal could be on the move again this year as the Lightning tries to revamp its roster in preparation for next season.
Antropov, a center that can play the wing, is expected to be moved before the March 4 trade deadline.
Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke recently told Toronto radio station AM640 that it might be time for a change of scenery for Antropov.
From the Editor: Columbus gets to kill two birds with one stone tonight, as their scouts can watch both the Leafs and Lightning in Tampa tonight. While it remains to be seen what Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson has up his sleeve, Columbus definitely wants an upgrade at the forward position and a top centerman would be the perfect fit. Howson wouldn't mind getting a top defenseman, but help up front is the priority. -- David Pagnotta. thefourthperiod.com/news/cbj090212.html

This reminds me of that Antropov for Voracek barebones rumor.
It would be a fantastic deal if it came about. And an outright steal! Voracek instantly becomes one of our top forwards and will only get better. Actually this season, he will be our top forward AND prospect!
Plus it makes some sense as Columbus needs to get in the playoffs and with Filatov in the cupboard it makes it easier to swallow.
