So Ottawa is talking trades in Chicago at the GM meetings: slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/Ottawa/2008/10/24/7190031-sun.htmlToronto has the answer to both needs according to the article. A puck moving D and a goalie. What can we come up with here for fair market value. The article says the Bulin Wall is no longer available and the goalie options available are slim. Toscala and Kaberle may cost Ottawa too much. but what might be the return? Might Ottawa want MVR instead at a more cost effective alternative? My guess is Toscala and Kaberle would cost Ottawa Vermette, both 2009 1st round picks and a blue chip prospect or two. Opinions?

I'd be down for both those first round picks and Vermette at the price of Kaberle and Vesa. Whether that would ever happen is another thing though. I also think Cliff will hold those two until the trade deadline or even past that to draft day. They are his trumpth cards.
