Doubt it. A team like Atlanta or Los Angeles is going to pick him up at half the cap hit, then flip him at the deadline for picks. A 50 point veteran defender without a long-term commitment should garner at least a 2nd round pick for whoever holds him until the deadline. If Toronto managed to deal away their surplus, it would make a nice little investment.

I've got to question what Burke is doing...you're telling me there is absolutely no trade market for Bryz or now Schneider? The guy is just giving away tradeable assets.

If the Senators were smart, they'd pick him up. He'd fit in well with the Senators.

Los Angeles and/or Atlanta, probably being high on the waiver wire, are going to grab this guy and use him as trade bait. If the Leafs didn't already have three plugs in Kubina, Finger and Van Ryn, I'd be for doing such a thing but as you said, our surplus is far too great right now.

Interesting, I can't believe there was no deal to be had out there for Schneids. I'm starting to not want Burke in TO next season.
