Make your pre-season opener predictions here. You should provide the following in your prediction: Score, Player that scores the game winner, Top offensive line for the Leafs. My predictions: Score: Tor 5 Buf 3 (You have to be optimistic for the first one ) Game Winner: Matt Stajan Top Offensive Line: My line guess would be Stajan centering Tlusty and Kulemin. Sounds like a decent line. Your turn!

I'm going to say 4-3 Buffalo...Blake and one of Kulemin/Tlusty scoring goals for the Leafs...with the third goal of theirs being someone on the bubble.

Anyone see Cliffy on the intermission?? He looked like he wasn't going to make it through the game!!!
I like what I've seen so far from Hollweg. Cola has looked good too. A little disappointed of the ice time from Kulemin, but I saw some speed and physicality along the boards from him.

Jon Mitchell has caught my eye tonight too!!!
Cola has been a beast at both ends so far. Pogge's looking good too!! He just made a gigantic save on a PP!!

WOW!!!!!!!
Pogge just made a couple huge saves while the Leafs were running around in their own zone when 2 guys had broken sticks and couldn't get it out.
I really like the speed that they have been showing tonight. The grit is coming through a lot more then last year.

Another goal where Ian White did not take the man in front.

Robby Earl bud.
Really liked Carlo's play tonight was a solid two way defense men. As well liked Blake out there, did well on the PP and surprisingly on the PK as well. As a whole I thought Stajan Tlusty and Blake's line were quite solid and had some good chances out there.
Liked John Mitchell he had a good game as well.
Wished I had seen more out of Boyce and Kulemin but I'm sure as pre-season goes they'll have their chance.
Dommy Moore and Boyd Deveraux I just love their hustle and effort.
It's a lame numbers game that we have so many not top six players this year.

It's amazing how much faster this team is compared to last year and this isn't their full lineup yet. When Wilson said they are one of the fastest teams in the league, he wasn't kidding.

He had maybe one or two shifts where I even knew he was on the ice. He looked OK when I saw him though. When I checked the time on ice report at NHL.COM I was surprised to see he played 12:28. I thought that he was more like 8 or 9 Mins. We've got to remember that this was his first experience in the NHL, and he's trying to get accustomed to the speed and style of the NHL. He was also playing with guys most likely going to the Marlies. I want to see what he does with Steen and Hagman.

If Jason Blake can continue passing the way he was last night rather then take all those perimeter shots, he will have a good season.

If Jason Blake can continue passing the way he was last night rather then take all those perimeter shots, he will have a good season. It's funny that you say that because when he made his first pass and it almost resulted in a goal, I turned and looked at my buddies and said... "he passes?" lol As for what Burn's been saying, I had a little chat with Alec yesterday about what to expect from Kulemin and everything I talked to him about happened last night. Kulemin will be a great 2nd to 3rd line player this year but might be upstaged by the now NHL-READY John Mitchell. That kid is big and fast and looks like he has a bit more talent than Chad Kilger. Carlo seems to be back in form and when he scored that goal, I thought he got injured on the boards right before it. On the replay, it just showed him standing awkwardly looking for the puck, so that's a relief. Great shot though. And what about Dominic Moore threading the opener? Man that was slick. Tlusty is definitely making a case for top line winger. He's thriving under Wilson's new approach. And I like how the defense are just confidently getting the puck to the neutral zone and letting the speed of the forwards do the dirty work. Very good system. Looking forward to Wednesday's game when Luke Schenn is expected to play the whole game against Malkin and Crosby.

It's funny that you say that because when he made his first pass and it almost resulted in a goal, I turned and looked at my buddies and said... "he passes?" lol Not only that, but there was a play in the 3rd where it was clearly a time to shoot, but opted to make the pass, it was a good one, but he had the better shot opportunity.
