Toskala getting the start, Blake taking the night off, Dominic Moore still slightly injured. The Leafs are looking hard at Mitchell but it's looking more and more apparent that there's really only one roster spot available up front.
Prediction: Leafs win (holding onto a third period lead) 4-2

I as at the Buffalo game on Saturday and they had him listed as in the lineup originally , but he was a late scratch for Grabs.

Hello fellow leaf fans...i have missed majority of the games the past week. Have any of the lines found any chemistry yet? I heard Kulemin and Hagman were doing well together in training camp.

Kulemin and Grabovski are together and doing fairly well. It looks like they are developing a nice chemistry. Wilson said that they are close in age and Grabs has been translating for Kulemin (He doesn't speak very much English), he thinks that they are/becoming close friends. Hagman has been plying with Steen. Hagman has looked good. He's been physical, solid defensively and on the PK and shown a bit of offensive ability. He kinda looked like a one-man-line offensively in his last game, as it looked like Steen couldn't keep up with him. Tlusty is looking good and strong.

Here is the lineup for tonight. Wilson said that Frogren is solid defensively, but needs to work on keeping up with the play and holding the offensive line. I think that he'll come along. He's only had 2 preseason games. He'll get better. That's not why he's here anyway. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/09/29/toskala_leafs/I like Kubina and Cola together Hopefully Kulemin continues to progress and we see more out of him this game as we've seen previous. He's been getting better every game.

Keep an eye on power forward prospect Kyle Rogers. 23 year old, 6'3 210 lbs.
Scored 23 points in 34 GP in his last season for Niagara University.
He was heavily scouted by up to 10 NHL teams looking for the next Dustin Penner, and finally signed for quite a lot of money ($850K/year) with Toronto.
He's definitely destined for the Marlies, but it should be nice to get a feel for his game.

I saw a bit of him with the Marlies last year in the playoffs and he didn't really catch my eye. Really went unnoticed. Maybe it was because he was making the adjustment to Pro.

Yeah, Dale Mitchell didn't do a whole lot for the Marlies either. But Rogers was quiety quite solid during the Leafs rookie tourny a few weeks ago. Used his size effectively, displayed some toughness and scored two goals. And here are the stats of his last NCAA season as compared to those of Penner Hmm.... late-blooming power forward free agent out of the NCAA ranks... sounds familiar doesn't it? Kyle Rogers age 23: 23 pts in 34 GP in the NCAA Dustin Penner age 22: 23 pts in 43 GP in the NCAA One NHL exec picked him as hands-down the fiercest and best checker in all of NCAA Division-1 hockey. Scout's take on Rogers: "He’s a terrific skater for a big man, has good hands, a booming slap shot and is aggressive." Not saying he's gonna be a star, because he has to prove himself at the AHL level, but he's another of those savvy prospect moves by the Leafs scouting staff.

From an article on Rogers:
"One NHL executive called him the best body checker in college hockey. Yeah, that gets your attention.
Former Sabres winger Rick Dudley, now assistant general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks, is among many who have kept close watch on Rogers. He attended the CHA championship game along with Toronto scout Mike Palmateer, the former Leafs goalie. Larry Carriere, a top scout for Washington, has been a frequent visitor.
Other teams showing interest included Boston, Pittsburgh, Anaheim and, to a lesser degree, Buffalo. Scouts are expected to flock to the NCAA Tournament. If Rogers continues to play well, his stock will grow even more.
“He’s a big man who can skate,” Dudley said. “He has above-average hands. He shoots the puck very hard and processes things better than I thought he did. There’s not a lot not to like. . . .What scouts are looking at is whether he can, with a little improvement, become a National Hockey League player. He has a chance.” "

Hey, can never have too many of those right!!! I did see a little bit of him at the prospects tournament and he scored a nice goal. "Good speed, good hands and aggressive and a fierce checker" -sounds like he could be a nice 3rd line center. Yeah Dale Mitchell didn't do much either, but he is younger too. Mitchell only played 2 games in the playoffs while Rogers played 10 + 2 regular season games. I think it's harder to come in at the end of the season and make an impact (especially form a new league), because the coach has his guys that he's gotten to know and you're basically going in on the 3rd/4th line trying to do something to get noticed.
