I'm disappointed that he didn't play last night, but what he's saying is encouraging. Hopefully he gets in there soon and can continue to develop. Defenceman Anton Stralman, who didn't live up to expectations during training camp, was a healthy scratch for the Maple Leafs last night. "I understand the situation. I didn't play good at camp. So I'm not b*tching about anything," he said. "You knew right away when you got here, it was going to be a hard competition for jobs on the blueline. I'll keep working to try to get a spot. It might take a week. I might take a month. But I'm ready to work for it."www.thestar.com/Sports/Hockey/article/515257

That's good to hear, but I doubt he'll stick it out for a month.
Cliff needs to clear a spot or two in within a week IMO.

What the !@#$ are they thinking? This guy is their best NHL ready prospect but they have him sitting behind Van Ryn and Frogren? I've heard the argument that they're shopping Van Ryn, but how much value could he possibly have even if he does play? If they want value for Van Ryn, they have to wait until the deadline and Stralman can't wait that long. Also, why the hell is the guy they brought in to protect Stralman, Frogren, playing AHEAD of Stralman? It makes no damn sense. When it comes to guys like Stralman, it's very simple; they must play. End of story.
