Pogge looked a little shaky, but you can't blame those 3 goals on him, it's hard enough to save the puck when your own team isn't putting them past you.
Schenn looked nervous out there, definately shows he needs to play junior another year.
Stralman and Kaberle both looked pretty rusty out there, doubt it's anything to worry about.
I was impressed with Frogren, he looks like he'll be a solid defensive defenseman once he gets into a groove. Van Ryn on the other hand was not impressive, nor was Bouwmedienne.
I can definately see Grabovski's potential. Poni just looked like he has no hockey sense out there. Antro was the usual Antro, which is good.
Tlusty definately looks like he's taking steps forward, Blake looked better out there tonight than he did last year. Steen was relatively unnoticable.
Kulemin started to show some flashes of what he can do. Hagman looked pretty ordinary, Mitchell went pretty unnoticed.
Stapleton looked like an AHLer, Nice to see Mayers drop the mits without hesitation, he looks like the type of energy/leader player that we need. Newbury looked the same as usual.

Missed the game again grrr, but I heard that Stralman didn't play too well, and the Leafs in general didn't look very impressive. Decent defensively for the most part, but just not enough talent to get many things going offensively.
Heard Grabrovski had some flashes of great play though.

I can't believe I listened to Leafs Talk for 20 minutes on my way home from school tonight.. I want that 20 minutes of my life back... some of those calls are so completely useless.

I saw some good things from Frogren, I think he'll be fine when he gets used to the NHL. I liked Tlusty again tonight. He's looking strong, fast and confident. I like it!! Kulemin was OK. Some nice big hits, nice move into the slot for the shot in the 3rd. Showed great skill there. Can't wait to see more of that. Really liked Hagman tonight. Wasn't impressed with Kaberle and Stralman. They better get it going. They looked like they were handling a live grenade. Another impressive outing by Mitchell. He's really putting himself into a position to make the team. It's going to be tough though. Not a lot of room. Stapleton and Boumedeine were a mess, although J-Bo got a little better as the game went on. Pogge was good. Can't be faulted for 2 off his own dmen and a shorthanded 2on0 with Malkin and Staal. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I missed Hollweg's energy tonight.

Mitchell went pretty unnoticed. Agreed with everything you said Carlton, except this. I think he played exceptionally well. It will be very hard to send him down me thinks.

Mitchell Hagman and Tlusty were easily noticeable as the best forwards on the ice for the Leafs tonight, EASILY noticeable.
Van Ryn was alright, nothing spectacular, Stralman got faster, and Ponikarovsky just irritated me.

He has great speed, uses his size well, was physical, and played smart. I am impressed.

I think Kaberle is gone !! He is an awesome defenceman but has no idea what to do without all of his old team mates around. Seems like he is unsure (and this has to do with the new faces on the team) positionally and how to trust the new guys. Makes perfect sense because it is a learning curve. But think of the return he could bring us in fresh young faces or draft picks. trade him cliffy.

Yeah, Im afraid hes not going to be the same, not playing with mccabe. maybe he will just play with kubina until the team plays as a whole. And then maybe things will work itself out.

wasn't it obvious the difference in energy from monday night to last night?
no carlo, no holweg, no moore,
I think its obvious who will make the regular squad, and who won't.

The LEafs really missed those guys last night. They seemed really slow last night compared to Monday against Buffalo. Imagine what could have happened if Hollweg was in there and he stirred it up. It might have got the LEafs going sooner. I liked frogren, he was so-so but is was his first game. I thought he got a bit better as the game went on. He was throwing his weight around a bit, and played nice D.

It's amazing how quickly we can forget how good a defenseman Carlo can really be. Every time he comes back from injury, he makes me go "wow, we've been playing without this guy the whole time?"

Couldn't have said it any better. Carlo is by far the best defensemen on that club. Feel free to criticize me for saying that, but that's my honest opinion. When he's healthy, he's an absolute star. Is it just me, or does anyone else want to see Carlo play with Frogren? lol Talk about scaring the opponent.

Id like to see what kind of things Tomas could do with a solid d man, not just one who has a threatening shot. If that doesn't work out, maybe kaberle could play with stralman, somebody who can mimic McCabe on the powerplay, how hard could that be?
